Privacy policy
Plain English. We collect what we need to build your site and run our business — nothing more.

What we collect
When you sign up and build a site with us, we collect:
- Account info: email address and password (hashed, never stored in plain text).
- Site inputs: business name, services, contact info (phone, email, address), photos you upload, and any text you type into the content editor.
- Payment info: credit card details are handled by Stripe — we never see or store your card number. We only store a payment-method identifier so we can charge you.
- Usage data: analytics about pages you view in our portal (privacy-respecting, no third-party trackers, hashed IPs only).
How we use it
- To build and host the website you ordered.
- To generate copy via AI (sent to Anthropic's Claude API — see "Third parties" below).
- To send you billing receipts, build notifications, and the occasional product update email.
- To improve the product (aggregate, non-identifying patterns only).
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not run third-party ads on our portal.
Third parties
To deliver the service, we share specific data with the following providers:
Stripe
Handles all payment processing. They receive: your name, email, billing address, and card details. Stripe privacy policy.
Anthropic (Claude)
Generates the AI copy used to draft your site's text. We send: the business information you typed (name, services, niche, etc.) so it can write relevant copy. Anthropic does not use this to train their models. Anthropic privacy policy.
Google (Gmail API)
Sends our outbound emails to you (build notifications, receipts, customer-team replies). We send your email address and message content. Google privacy policy.
DigitalOcean
Our infrastructure provider. They host the servers your site is built on. They do not process your data themselves. DigitalOcean privacy policy.
How long we keep your data
- While you're a customer: as long as your account is active.
- After you cancel: account + site data is retained for 90 days in case you want to reactivate, then deleted. Billing records (required by law) are retained for 7 years.
- If you ask us to delete sooner: we will. Email hello@fivedaylaunch.com and we'll process it within 7 business days.
Your rights
You can:
- Access the data we have about you — email us and we'll send it.
- Correct anything that's wrong — edit it in your portal, or email us.
- Delete your account and data — see above.
- Export your site source code at any time — it's yours.
- Opt out of non-essential emails — every email has an unsubscribe link.
Cookies
We use a single cookie (fdl_portal_token) to keep you signed in. It's httpOnly, secure, and SameSite=Strict — no third-party tracking, no advertising cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or similar tools on the portal.
Children
The service is intended for business owners. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy, we'll email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and we'll post the change here.
